Pansion Marjan is located directly on the southern coast of Hvar, in the peaceful village of Zavala, opposite the island of Šćedro and overlooking Korčula. Surrounded by pebble beaches, crystal-clear sea, olive groves and vineyards, this part of Hvar is perfect for guests looking for peace, nature and an authentic Adriatic holiday.
Unlike the lively nightlife of the town of Hvar, Zavala offers a completely different experience – tranquillity, relaxation and a true Dalmatian atmosphere. It is an ideal place to relax both body and mind, far from crowds, where guests can enjoy nature, local gastronomy and the traditional way of life on Hvar island.
A special feature of Pension Marjan is agrotourism and homemade food and wine production. In our traditional tavern in the village of Pitve we produce our own wines and various homemade products following old Dalmatian recipes. Guests can taste authentic Hvar wines such as the white varieties Bogdanuša and Muscat, as well as the famous red wine Plavac Mali.
Besides wine, our tavern also offers a variety of homemade products from our own production: liqueurs made from loquat, sour cherry, lemon and walnut, traditional brandies and herbal spirits, orange and lemon marmalades, seasoned salt, dried herbs such as oregano, candied orange peel, homemade herbal teas made from chamomile, sage and mint, as well as natural herbal creams and oils. All our products are made from local ingredients from Hvar island with respect for nature and traditional production.
A stay at Pension Marjan also offers many opportunities for an active holiday on Hvar. Guests can enjoy cycling, hiking, walks through vineyards and olive groves, diving, fishing or windsurfing. We also organize trips to the island of Šćedro, wine and olive oil tastings, and visits to our traditional tavern in Pitve.
The guesthouse offers 3 comfortable apartments and 5 cosy rooms with sea view. All accommodation units feature a balcony, private bathroom (shower/WC), double bed with the possibility of an extra bed, free Wi-Fi and beautiful views of the sea and nearby islands. Guests can choose between bed and breakfast, half board or full board with traditional Dalmatian cuisine.
In our kitchen we prepare authentic Dalmatian specialities such as dishes cooked under the traditional “peka”, fish and meat delicacies from the wood-fired oven, as well as vegetarian and gluten-free meals, always according to guests’ preferences.
Pension Marjan is located only 20 metres from the sea, close to natural and FKK beaches. Guests can enjoy free parking, a boat mooring, daily cleaning service and laundry service. Pets are welcome.
Buffet breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00, and dinner at 19:00.
